My Journey

As an age-group amateur triathlete representing Great Britain, I learned that performing under pressure isn’t just about physical training, it’s about mindset, resilience, and the support around you. Even outside elite sport, I’ve pushed myself for a purpose, completing a Half Ironman in my small back garden during COVID-19 to raise over £13,000 for NHS Charities and The Red Cross, a story that made it onto Sky Sports News.

Over 20 years leading teams in the financial sector showed me that pressure exists in all areas of life, and that sustainable success relies on people, culture, and wellbeing as much as strategy and skill. That same drive fuels my community work: I recently spearheaded a campaign to raise £29,000 for a Field of Dreams legacy sport pitch at my late friend’s primary school, working with partners like QPR and Ironman, and completing my first Ultra race last September to inspire others and bring attention to the project.

Today, I combine sport, corporate experience, academic research, and community projects to help people and teams thrive under pressure. My PhD explores how strong relationships, “secure bases”, support performance, wellbeing, and resilience. I work across sport, academia, and business, empowering individuals and teams to build confidence, clarity, and sustainable high performance, while also giving back to communities that matter.

Client perspective…

“I worked with Neil at a pivotal point in my life as I retired from a sport that had fundamentally shaped who I am.

“He supported me to process that transition as a genuine form of grief, while helping me recognise and preserve the strengths the sport had instilled in me.

“What sets Neil apart is the way he combines analytical precision and expert knowledge with warmth and compassion. His thinking partnership made a significant difference at a critical time.”
